Yu-Shan graduated with a B.S. in Biochemical Science and Technology from National Taiwan University, in Taiwan. Following graduation, she worked in National Taiwan Hospital (Taipei, Taiwan) as a research assistant in Dr. Bor-Luen Chiang’s lab for two years, where she studied on the immunomodulatory effect of a specific Chinese herb on dendritic cells and the derived immune responses on Th1/Th2 balancing in mice model. She enrolled in IDP program, University of Florida in 2009. Now, she is pursuing her Ph.D. under the mentorship of Dr. Mavis Agbandje-McKenna. Her current research interest is on the interaction of antibodies and adeno-associated viruses (AAV), using structural approaches to identify the antigenic sites on AAV capsids.
